Christy Block is known for her work with Manchurian Candidate Director, John Frankenhiemer. Christy was introduced to Frankenheimer in 1993, while she was attending the American Film Institute Producer's Program. The two immediately hit it off, as they shared the same style and vision for American Filmmaking and story telling. While attending AFI, Block had a meeting with American Film producer Chris Moore, who encouraged Block to work for the ICM literary dept. Block accepted the position at ICM where she worked closely with Ken Kamins and Peter Jackson, as he was developing The Lord of the Rings Trillogy. This was also during the time that Chris Moore was able to begin production for Good Will Hunting. While at ICM, Block was working closely with John Frankenhiemer, who had been assigned as the director for Island of Dr Moreau with Marlin Brando and Val Kilmer. After a difficult shoot, Frankenheimer enlisted Block to work for him as his Director of Development and Associate Producer. Block assisted in the development of Reindeer Games for Ron Howard's, Imagine Entertainment. During this time, casting and production began for The George Wallace project with Gary Sinese and Angelina Jolie. The site location was at the Ambasador Hotel in Los Angeles, also the place of the assassination of Robert Kennedy. Frankenheimer and Kennedy were together at his Malibu home the day of the assassination. "I vividly remember Frankenheimer telling the story of RFK leaving his tennis shoes at Frankenheimer's home the day of the assassination. The shoes represented a strong symbol as well as a metaphor left behind by a Great American Leader". Walk in my Shoes.
