April Roomet is an award-winning fashion stylist; costume designer, creative director and visionary. Her unyielding commitment to the overall appearance of every project she has worked on in her more than two decades in the entertainment business has not only gained her accolades from notable directors such as Antoine Fuqua, Spike Lee, Todd Philips, Sophie Muller, Chris Robinson, Paul Hunter and Francis Lawrence, but it has also been the calling card that has allowed her to collaborate with cutting edge and iconic artists like Nas, Lauryn Hill, Eminem, Santigold, Ice Cube, and Snoop Dogg. The latter of whom she worked closely with for over 15 years on projects that ranged from variety shows and films to editorials and some of the most unforgettable music videos of the twenty first century. Years spent as a stylist in the music business gave her a crash course on how important costumes are in setting the tone and enhancing the performances of her numerous celebrity clients. She became the go-to for the artist that needed a custom piece that combined texture, color, and swag to enhance and elevate their expression. Her vision has not only been limited to individuals. Over the years several corporate suitors have come calling hoping to capitalize on the fact that she always has had her hand on the pulse of what's trending. This has led to frequent work with Adidas, AT&T, Cadillac, Sprite, Footlocker, Nike, and a number of other prominent companies. But her career in fashion did not begin behind the scenes, however, it was her time spent as a model in her teens that opened her eyes to the blossoming possibilities that the television and costume industries hold. Being on shoots where "time is money" at an early age, is where she developed the time management skills that have brought her success. While she still prefers to collaborate behind the scenes, recently we have seen her make guest appearances as a style expert on several shows such as E!, The Rap Game and Mission: Makeover. April has always lived by the motto of "Yes...I can make that happen." It is this positive attitude and dedication to her craft that continues to drive her to accept more challenges and share more of her creativity with the world.
