Tom van Kessel

Tom van Kessel ( 1994, born in Culemborg), played alongside Carice van Houten in his first movie after being discovered in 2005 by director Martin Koolhoven. The film KNETTER, where he is playing one of the leading roles in, becomes a national and international success. Since then he plays in productions such as BON VOYAGE, BIRTHDAY BOY, HELIUM, FLIKKEN MAASTRICHT and DORSVLOER VOL CONFETTI, directed by the Dutch-Norwegian director Tallulah Hazekamp Schwab. The film premieres at the Film by the Sea Festival in Vlissingen and receives outstanding reviews. An adaptation of the novel exhibits at the Berlinale in early 2015 and is nominated for the Glazen Beer for best youth film. The film attracts nearly 100,000 people to the Dutch cinemas. After graduating from acting school, Tom played various roles in productions like DE FRACTIE, GHOST CORP and SUMMER IN ZEELAND. He also played the role of Fabian de Leeuw in 75 episodes of Nieuwe Tijden and is seen as Elias in the short movie SOUTH OF HEAVEN. Recently he played the young Andre Hazes jr. in the music video 'EEN DOODGEWONE MAN'. He can be heard as the voice of Weight Watchers, Indeed, Mercedes and De Giro. Next to acting, Tom uses his experience to leverage his creativity in writing and concept development. He is the founder of WEST CREATIVE COMPANY, an Amsterdam based creative production company that is focusing on storytelling and content creation for fiction, documentary and films.
