Alan Umstead is a Nashville based session violinist/violist and is the founder and president of Nashville Music Scoring, a musical contracting contracting company serving the Music, Film, TV and Videogame industry. As a session violinist, Alan is one of the most prolific recording violinists of all time, having played on over 20,000 albums, TV shows, Film & Videogame scores and Commercial jingles. He has recorded music in all genres and has worked with such diverse artists as Bruce Springsteen, Mega Death, Garth Brooks, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Kid Rock, Carrie Underwood and 1000's of others. As the contractor/concertmaster of the Nashville Music Scoring orchestra, Alan has contracted music for most of the top Film and Videogame companies such as Electronic Arts, Sony Playstation, Microsoft, Nintendo, SEGA, Square Enix, Fox, Disney, NBC, the History Channel, Lionsgate, etc and has worked with composers such as Austin Wintory. Bear McCreary, Gustavo Santaolalla, Trevor Morris, John Debney, Bruce Broughton, Steve Jablonsky, Jason Graves, Kevin Riepl, Clint Bajakian, Peter McConnell, Jack Wall, Michael Bross, Jesse Harlin and many, many others.
