Dutch actress Maud Bredius (25% Indonesian blood and a drop of Chinese) was born on the island of Java and has lived in Paris, London, Israel and NYC. Her home base is Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her first professional steps in acting were mostly guided by American teachers. One of them, Joe Weston from NYC, got her during a very exciting year acquainted with the works of Shakespeare. Performing Shakespeare would become a lifelong love affair. Later she trained for 3 years at the Meisner/Esper Acteerstudio in Den Bosch (founded by Paul Dekker) where she also experienced Grotowski's method. In 2015 she did the Summer Intensive at the William Esper Studio, NYC, teacher Terry Knickerbocker. 2020, and so far 2021 as well, have been fruitful years for Maud. She followed Masterclasses at Sundance Institute and trained on line with Shakespeare & Company in Massachusetts and the BGB Studio in L.A. with a.o. Risa Bramon Garcia. In both schools she was stimulated to write and make her own work. At the moment she's taking a weekly virtual ongoing acting class with Corey Parker. In the past Maud has worked with Keith Johnstone, improvisation, and Kristin Linklater, voice. Maud is crazy about animals and Gaga, Ohad Naharin's movement language.
