Matthys Boshoff

Matthys has developed, written, directed and produced international award winning short and feature films, television series, branded content and commercials. His short film, Vlees van my vlees, had its European premiere in competition at Clermont-Ferrand, screened at and won awards at festivals around the globe and was nominated for best short film SAFTA (South African Film & Television Awards). He co-wrote his directorial feature debut Children of the Storm - a family adventure drama which was nominated for 7 SAFTAs including Best Film, and won for Best Cinematography, Sound Design and Original Score. To date Children of the Storm has distribution deals in North America (ITN), Latin America and Africa. Matthys is a Cine Qua Non Script Revision Lab, Triggerfish-Disney Animation Story Lab and Realness Screenwriter's Residency alumni, and his commercials have won shiny little statues at OneShow, Cannes, LIA and took home the Loeries Film Grand Prix in 2018. When not indulging in all things film & TV, Matthys pursues his love for adventure by hanging on sketchy gear off the side of a mountain or cycling on his pink bike through the desert. In 2010 Matthys co-founded AIR Films, an award winning commercials production house. In 2016 he re-purposed AIR Films to consult exclusively on feature film and series development & production.
