Yurina Kumai

Kanagawa Prefecture in Central Japan on the Pacific Ocean coast is known for neighbouring the said ocean, Tokyo and Mount Fuji and being the base for several US military occupation bases. Kumai Yurina was born here in Atsugi on August 3rd, 1993. She became active in the entertainment business at the young age of nine and joined Hello! Project in 2002 after passing the Hello! Project Kids' audition. Hello! Project is an omnibus name for a collection of mainstream pop music acts. She moved to Berryz Kobo Idol band in 2004 and remained with them until dissolution in 2015. While there she also performed for the Anime-related Guardians 4 and Morning Musume sub-group Tanpopo#. She became the latter's leader in 2010, which was a year after joining. She intermittently acted on the small and big screens starting with Koinu Dan No Monogatari in 2002. She moved into modelling in 2015 aided by her leggy frame as she is 180cms tall. Yurina has two younger brothers, several photo books and loves dogs.
