Peter Boland is an artist/actor who began working with Sydney fringe theatre companies during the 1980s. At that time he also signed with a Theatrical Agent and appeared in numerous Television commercials and TV dramas before auditioning for the Drama School at the prestigious Victorian College Of The Arts (VCA) in Melbourne, Australia. There he studied acting full time for 3 years before graduating in 1985 with a Diploma of Dramatic Arts. He was later signed for a 6 month acting contract with the Arts Council of Australia funded Theatre South, Coniston NSW in 1987. He performed at the Bridge Theatre in stage shows 'Windy Gully' and 'Golden Valley' as well as regional tours of the stage plays 'First People' and 'Newcomers'. He also performed for Theatre South at the Zenith Theatre, Chatswood. He has since been based in Sydney, Australia although returning briefly to Melbourne to appear in the television series Prisoner (Cell Block H) and Prime Time. He has maintained a keen interest in film and video production since first studying Film Production Techniques at North Sydney TAFE in 1980. He is also passionate about the visual arts having achieved a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sydney College of the Arts in 1982. His most notable exhibition as an artist was at the 1992 Exposicio D'Art Australia in Canet D'Mar Spain where his sculpture sold and is now held by the Mayor of Canet D'Mar. Aside from acting and art making he teaches video production, digital editing, film acting, drama, animation, photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, graphic design, art history and appreciation.
