Jon Ross is an Emmy Nominated filmmaker out of the city of Chicago. He studied film at Columbia College Chicago with a concentration in directing/producing. Getting early exposure on major film sets, Jon did extra work on the Michael Mann film "Ali" starring Will Smith and Jamie Foxx, but didn't get turned on to producing until working on the movie "Barbershop 2." Learning all he could from other Columbia College grads Robert Teitel and George Tillman, Jon later co-founded JR2 Films and produced/starred in many of his films. Jon's hard work paid off when his film "Mound Bayou: Jewel of the Delta" won the Best Documentary and Audience Choice Awards at many film festivals but his biggest honor came when he was nominated for an Emmy by the National Academy of Television and Science Midwest/Chicago on Sept 23, 2014. In 2020, Jon launched the new organization Somebody's Nobody INC. helping young artists navigate the film industry.
