Mike began his career at Granada TV in the 1980s at the Manchester studios, where he worked on a variety of programmes from CORONATION STREET to Laur ence Olivier's KING LEAR. In 1989, Mike left to set up his own production company, making films for Yorkshire Television, Granada Television, and the BBC. His connection with Granada TV remained close, working on the award winning 'World In Action' until it's demise in the late 90s. Mike has been involved with many high profile shows, notably the Emmy Award winning 'Beat That', a children's show for Channel 4, and 'Mersey Blues'(BBC) which took an inside look at the Merseyside Police, one of the first access documentaries to utilise small digital cameras like the VX1000. Mike also helped launch 'Wife Swap' on the American ABC Network, shooting six of the first shows for American transmission, and latterly shot the first 'Secret Millionaire' for RDF Media, which has also followed 'Wife Swap' across the Atlantic. Mike has worked across the world on documentaries for all broadcasters as a Lighting Cameraman, Director, and Director / Cameraman. For the past five years, along side his documentary commitments, Mike has worked closely with 'Tonight With Trevor McDonald', both as a Lighting Cameraman and Director. He has also completed work as Director of Photography / Cinematographer on Donal MacIntyre's 'A Very British Gangster - Part 1 and Part 2'. Along with Donal MacIntyre, Mike has worked with many respected film makers including Paul Watson, Jenny Crowther, and Norman Hull.
