Two-time Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist turned film and TV producer Stephanie Frederic is the CEO and Chief Content Officer of FGW Productions. She holds a BA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and spent many years in the industry working for King World Productions' Inside Edition, American Journal, Black Entertainment TV and a host of other local stations around the country including KRON-San Francisco (NBC), KRIV -Houston (FOX), KWTV-Oklahoma City (CBS) and KLAX, Alexandria, LA. However, it was Frederic's long-time fascination with movies that led her to take the leap from weather and news reporter to television and film productions. Over the years, FGW Productions has become a key player with some of Hollywood's major studios and television networks. The team at FGW Productions is comprised of visual storytellers. Clients love that they're a one-stop-shop with the ability to craft a compelling story from beginning to end creating concepts, producing and editing, designing movies trailers and behind-the-scenes marketing content that speaks to audiences of color. Frederic is living her dream through FGW Productions having secured ongoing projects with such clients as Universal Pictures, Disney, Warner Bros, Paramount, Lionsgate, Morgan Creek, NBC TV Network, A&E, OWN, PBS, BET, TV ONE and major brands like Lexus, and Lincoln to name a few plus FGW has the plum assignment of working the prestigious Academy Awards for the last decade. Her creative team is one of the most-sought-after idea factories in Hollywood. Some of Frederic's behind-the-scenes productions include: Girls Trip (starring Queen Latifah & Jada Pinkett-Smith, Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish); and All Eyez On Me (The biopic of legendary artist/rapper/poet/activist Tupac Shakur), Night School starring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, American Gangster with Denzel Washington, Tyler Perry's Nobody's Fool (2018) and Shaft (2019) Can you dig it? FGW's other BTS productions include: Award-winning and Oscar-nominated, 12 Years A Slave; run-away hit, Ride Along, which claimed the #1 spot three consecutive weeks at the box office with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart and Ride Along 2; Best Man's Holiday - the sequel to The Best Man - was a box office hit after 15 years between projects. Disney's Princess and The Frog has a special place in Frederic's heart because it was a game changer for young African American girls to see themselves portrayed on the big screen as a beautiful princess. The NAACP Image Award-nominated Light Girls - a 2-hour special for Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network - was a culturally significant doc focusing on colorism and healing. The broadcast created a firestorm of conversations and controversy on social media. Renowned gospel singer Donnie McClurkin entrusted FGW to produce his life story and the inspirational music documentary won film festivals around the globe. In November 2017, Frederic's FGW productions teamed with prestigious cabler A&E Networks and presented a six-part investigative docu-series, "Who Killed Tupac?" Stephanie was the EP for all six shows. She also EP's HBO's First Look special for "All Eyez on Me." FGW Productions continues to get the calls from Hollywood because they're not afraid of hard work and they deliver communities of color.
