A New York City-born son of Cuban and Sicilian heritage, Len Borruso is a graduate of the MFA Directing program at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. His most recent films include, "Paint the City", "Life with Dan" and "Moondog". His short film, "Anger", is about a high school teacher (Dan Davies) grappling with anger issues ignited by insolent students, America's failing democracy and his own failing relationships. "Anger" and "Life with Dan" both screened at the Wildwood Film Festival and Weyauwega International Film Festival. Len's credits include cinematography on several notable features including Mike Sakamoto's "Norman Jones", Ringo Le's "Big Gay Love" and Quentin Lee's "The Unbidden". "Big Gay Love", a favorite at both Frameline and Outfest, was acquired by TLA Releasing. He also shot Dalila Ali Raja's "Secrets & Toys" which won the Jury and Audience Award at the Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. Len shot the hit music video "Sellouts" for Breathe Carolina, which currently has over 12 million YouTube views. A graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Filmmaking and Culture, he created several award winning documentaries including "Issac", about the challenges facing a local African-American bus driver. He also co-produced "Growing Hope", about a non-profit organization in Santa Cruz, The Homeless Garden Project. "Growing Hope" depicts a national model for fighting homelessness and is narrated by Harrison Ford. His filmmaking manifesto, "Neighborhoodcore", was published in the art journal .fsm. Len co-writes the movie review blog, L & D Report at lndreport.com.
