Olecia Obarianyk

Olecia Roxanna Obarianyk was born Feb 25 in Regina, Saskatchewan, to Darius and Roxanna, greenhouse owners. She went to school in the small town of Grand Coulee, SK. An honor student, this was when she first realized her love for theatre after starring in multiple productions starting at the age of 11. Olecia was a ballerina from the age of 5, working her way to the National Ballet School and then on to being the principle in a semi-professional Ukrainian Dance Ensemble until her early 20's. At that time she began to work more in film spending the majority of her time working in Regina and occasionally traveling to Los Angeles where she met a director who encouraged her to move to a larger center. In 2006 her intentions were to move to Montreal until meeting her partner, Gerry at which point they chose Calgary, AB to support his career. After having 2 children, Olecia decided to stay at home to raise her children. Olecia raised her children for the next 11 years as a single mother, eventually moving to Ontario, where they still live today
