An elite ultra-endurance athlete, Lowri Morgan runs marathons and is a BAFTA and multi-award-winning TV presenter, journalist and adventurer who has overcome adversity to compete in, and win, some of the world's toughest and most extreme races. She is one of only a handful of people to have competed in the famous 350 miles non-stop 6633 Ultra Arctic footrace, renowned for being the toughest, windiest and most extreme race on the planet. Facing -72 degree Celsius temperatures, 70 mile-per-hour winds, Lowri fractured her feet during the race but still went on to become the world's sixth person to have completed the challenge. In 2015, Lowri competed in the notoriously difficult Three Peaks Yacht Race and made history as part of the first all-female team to win. In 2016, she became the first person to run from North to South Wales via the country's highest Peaks and mountains in 60 hours, completing 150 miles and a 10,000-metre ascent in just one weekend. Lowri was invited to attend a private reception with the Queen to acknowledge her services to adventure and exploration. She has also been awarded the National Adventurer of the Year and Honorary Fellowship at Swansea University. She was also an Ambassador for the 2016 Welsh Government's Year of Adventure Campaign along with Bear Grylls. As a TV presenter for over 17 years, Lowri has worked on a number of productions with different companies including live TV with BBC Sport, ITV, Channel 4 and S4C. During the last 5 years, Lowri has been involved with international broadcasters presenting documentaries about the lives of local tribes in Namibia, China, Morocco, Mexico and Peru.
