Erica started taking and developing photos at the age of twelve with a Nikon EM camera and a set of lens that her father made for her. Joe Dunton BSC, MBE is a BAFTA winning cinematographer and legendary camera and lens technician who invented the video assist in 1968. She grew up on the sets of Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Alan Parker and spent much of her youth learning from DP's like Freddie Francis BSC, Jack Cardiff BSC, Pete Biziou BSC, Freddie Young BSC and Billy Williams BSC. Her brothers both became cinematographers. It is in her blood and she was born with an eye. Yet her most important gift is that she is an actors' director. Her spirit excites actors and her instincts for finding the moments in-between the lines has proved invaluable in helping casts navigate emotional terrains. She has become known as a director actors can trust, a director who will help them do their best work, day in, day out. She sees directing as a collaborative sport and believes in the balance of helping actors follow their own instincts yet at the same time creating space to play with new possibilities. The place where Dunton feels most at home is on a set and in the edit room. She strives every day to be prepared, work hard, have fun, make her day and lead with compassion towards everyone on the cast and crew. Dunton graduated from Durham University with a law degree and then went on to study for three years at the UK's National Film and Television School, NFTS. She has written, directed and produced multiple award winning features... Her first feature film "Find Love" starred Christian Camargo, Alexie Gilmore and Craig Sheffer. It premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and also won many awards including, 'Best Script, Film and Director' at the Milan Film Festival. It is distributed by IFC.
