Colin Dalvit is a writer/producer/director from Washington state. Raised without cable television, he was introduced to great films from history via VHS and he knew that he wanted to make movies very early on. His childhood fascination with visual effects and the spectacle of film evolved into an appreciation for the power of drama and story as he grew older. In college at Western Washington University, Dalvit worked on several independent projects and met fellow filmmaker Andrew Lahmann. In association with WWU, the two worked on a short documentary about Civil War re-enactors. The small film was a success and the two decided to commit full-time to film studies. By the end of college, they had each written and directed full-length student feature films, and together they co-founded the film production company P-51 Pictures. Dalvit served as an associate producer, story writer, and visual effects supervisor on P-51 Pictures' first major film, the award-winning feature documentary, Out of Nothing (2014). The film garnered awards and the love of audiences around the world, and was picked up for world-wide distribution. Dalvit is also a professional animator and motion graphic artist. He runs a small animation company, Kinetikos Animation Co., in between film projects.
