In order to deliver the magnificent performance of Helena in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" Sonya memorized 300 Shakespeare lines in two days. She was only twelve then. The performance attracted a TV executive to book Sonya as the talk show hostess for a local television station. Her camera-readiness and charming voice got her roles as the lead and narrator for various documentaries, TV commercials, and a menagerie of monologues at Washington's Kennedy Center. Sonya has a M.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Columbia University.
