Alek Sountsov is a Russian/American Actor, Film Maker and Photographer, Great Nephew of Iosif Timchenko, a legendary Russian Inventor, Paris World Fair Gold Medalist and one of the first entrepreneurs of projected cinema who exhibited alongside Thomas Edison and Nicola Tesla. Anyone who truly knows Alek, will agree that he's got the Jack of All Trades gene without the attitude of a know-it-all. Alek speaks both English and Russian with no accent and has never paid a mechanic to fix his car. Growing up during the fall of the Soviet Union and the Chernobyl After Math, he was eager to learn how to survive by acing his English classes, learning Agriculture, Mechanics and Photography from his father Yuri Sountsov (Soviet Union National Swimming Champion and Award Winning Photographer). At age 13 Alek started practicing Martial Arts and Theater Arts, at 14 did his first play in St. Petersburg, and was consumed by idea of being a performer. At 15 he moved to the United States, expecting sky scrapers and Broadway lights, only to be surprised to find out that America is not the same everywhere, His new home was Broken Arrow, OK. He attended Broken Arrow HS, studied theater and was cast in multiple plays and musicals, upon graduation he was offered multiple theater scholarships to colleges in surrounding areas including OU and OSU. Putting all that aside he decided that if he wanted to pursue acting and film he has to learn from professionals and actual working actors, within a week he was on a plane to audition for the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood, upon acceptance he packed his and drove to L.A., Within weeks he had an Agent and multiple auditions happening.
