Douglas Fowkes

Doug received a BFA film degree in 1991. He wanted to be a movie-maker. However, Doug sidestepped the motion picture industry and began making TV commercials to "pay the bills". This proved to be a smart move, as TV commercials and high-end infomercials became a very successful business for Doug. 30 years later, after producing and/or directing countless commercials, and receiving dozens of awards and accolades for his work, Doug and his crew finally decided it was time to make a movie. They hired a professional screenplay writer and worked with numerous script consultants to create the masterful story behind "Dark Highway", their first film venture. "Dark Highway" is an intense high-action thriller about a ghost town road trip that goes terribly wrong. Doug produced and directed the movie. After a "30 year tangent", Doug is finally a movie-maker. Doug has followed in the same path as Ridley Scott, who also started out making award winning commercials, then transitioned into movies. You can already see some similarities in their work!
