Songwriter, composer, director, producer and author; he was educated in high school and thereafter was a vocalist in an orchestra (1938-1941), then was a USAF fighter pilot and test pilot during World War II. He wrote radio shows and musical commercials between 1945 and 1949, then entered television work. He was also president of the production company Cine-Dyne, and a freelance director and producer. Joining ASCAP in 1956, his popular-song compositions include "Midnight Breeze" and "Angelique".
