Richard Booth

A writer/director whose films are characterised by human conflict and the juxtaposition between tragedy and hope, he frequently paints stories of introspective soul-searching against wide open canvasses of rolling country hills and scenes of natural beauty. The inherent dualism within his work began at a very young age; he wrote several short stories, newspaper articles and play scripts before the age of 13. He soon realised that his interest in writing could be merged with his love for film and the marriage of the two has so far produced an acclaimed feature film and a series of short films and music videos. His debut feature, Live for the Moment, was released in 2004 and its production was heavily influenced by the recent loss of Richard's father to terminal cancer, bringing a powerful emotional core to a story that examined the line between fate and chance, and tragedy and redemption.
