Katharine Chong, or "Kat", is the managing director of the award-winning motion picture studios, Richmanclub Studios. After meeting the studios eventual founder, Rich Ho, in 2000, she supported him not only in his film making, but in his personal life as well. When Rich suggested making a short film for their business school presentation involving creative thinking, Kat agreed. Her parents bought her a Panasonic consumer miniDV camcorder, they used it to shot their first short film in University, and the rest began from there. Kat's camcorder was to be the camera used in all his short films, including one which got him a Special Technical Achievement Award in 2003, and came along with a Canon XL1s. When Kat graduated from Business School in 2004, she incorporated Richmanclub Studios Private Limited with Rich. Kat is to become the managing director of the studio, as well as co-producer in all of Rich Ho's films, occasionally co-writing his screenplays with him. Besides producing, she is also in-charge of designing and matching costumes and props for the ever changing and challenging demands of Rich Ho's films. Besides production work, Kat also directs and creates the "Behind the Scenes" documentaries for some of Rich Ho's films. Her documentaries are often different from the usual "making of" films, and is characterized by humour, witty editing, and a light-hearted look to how the impossible was made onto screen.
