Rich Ho had spent his life in mainstream education being infamous. When he was 3, he decided during a family tour to Taiwan to run up a national monument by himself and recite a Chinese poem to the panting tour group who had chased after him. When he was 11, the teacher said to build a village hut for their history project, and while the other kids bought ice-cream sticks and glue, he ordered timber and concrete. (He never managed to build it, his parents found out when the goods were delivered). When he was 13, he staged a hijacking for an analytical skills class (along with explosions from gunpowder scratched out from small fire crackers and a boy jumping out of the classroom window in "fear" onto a ledge outside the building). The lady teacher (who was unaware of the ledge outside) screamed and the other classes came to watch. When he was 14, he joined a national music composition competition. He was asked by the judges, "What kind of music do you usually listen to?" and he replied, "My own." The judges laughed before they realized that he wasn't joking. He was the youngest participant and in a later national competition, the youngest winner. When he was 19, he received his first film commission and his first studios, Richmanclub Studios was born. Rich became the first Singaporean to be nominated for the Taipei Golden Horse Awards for "Best International Digital Short Film", as well as the first Singaporean to be awarded a "Gold Award for Digital Art" in the Asia-Pacific wide ACMSIGGRAPH ComGraph, an international organization which honors achievements in computer graphics artistry. He later led Singapore's largest international film partnership in the research and development phase for "HEAVENS: The Boy and His Robot" movie and founded the Heavens Entertainment company to produce the movie in full. "HEAVENS: The Boy and His Robot" is one of the world's first in capitalizing on post production systems and real-time technology powered by GPU under real industry settings. It was made internationally with a culturally diverse and talented team of cast, crew, artists and other partners, over the span of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and the journey has been nothing short of an adventure in itself. Today, Rich is still passionate about creating good, clean, and fun entertainment. He is always on the lookout of a new filming location, new technology, or new media platform to help tell the stories and expand the world of HEAVENS, the franchise.
