Katy Garrity has spent the last twenty years producing content for non-fiction outlets including National Geographic, Discovery, ID, Smithsonian Networks, and the History Channel. She has field directed shoots around the world - flying over an erupting volcano in Hawaii, filming airports in Moscow, and traversing mines in the Chilean Atacama Desert. For the last five years, she's concentrated her efforts on archival producing - building new specials out of archival content including National Geographic's "Killer Snakes," "Explorer: Journey to Europa," and "Regime of the Queen" as well as managing the more than 10,000 assets of the 30x30 History Channel series "The Proof is Out There." She's also provided her archival and producing talents to multi-media museum spaces including the ground-breaking "Beyond King Tut" and Smithsonian's "Pause & Replay." She is the founder of Cabbage Leaf Pictures, a boutique production support company offering archival producing, research, and other production support for a variety of content. In her volunteer life, she serves as Chair Emertius of the Capital Region of the Producers Guild where she represents a community of predominantly non-fiction media makers and works to connect, support, and build a community of producers.
