Steve Matzkin is a feature film producer whose credits include the drama starring Christopher Plummer, The Man in the Chair (2007), the thriller, Prisoner (2007), and the documentary, Z Channel: A Magnificient Obsession (2004), which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. He also produced the feature film, comedy/drama Once More With Feeling (2009), starring Chazz Palminteri. Most recently he produced and co-wrote the dark comedy starring Gena Rowlands, Unfortunate Circumstances (2016), and Executive produced The Tribes of Palos Verdes (2017), starring Jennifer Garner. Matzkin became interested in the film business through his involvement with the Sarasota Film Festival. This led to the purchase of a significant stake in the Los Angeles based production company, Fresh Produce Films. Prior to entering the film business, Matzkin was the founder and CEO of Dental Care Alliance. Putting his Northwestern University Dental School degree to work, he practiced dentistry in Michigan, and began buying and managing dental offices. He acquired 8 practices and formed Dental Care Alliance in 1990. He took DCA public in 1997. In 1999 DCA merged with Gental Dental, a Los Angeles based public dental organization creating the largest Dental Service Company in the country. He served as Co-Chairman and CDO until 2001, when he bought DCA back and took the company private. DCA has grown and currently employs 4500 people. A native of Chicago, Matzkin began playing musical instruments at the age of six. He played in a successful rock band in Chicago and has written many songs over the years. In addition to developing and producing feature films, he often works on the music and scores for these projects. Matzkin met his wife actor Sarah Schroeder-Matzkin at a film festival and now they are producing partners in their company Double Infinity Productions.
