Candice Janeen Walker came to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career in the year 2000. She worked tirelessly on independent films, and local theater. She put her singing chops to use, starring in an original musical production at the Masquer's Cabaret and opening at the House of Blues. Besides progressing in her acting career Candice began studying screenwriting. One of her film school teachers encouraged the students to become aware of what they were "preaching". He explained that every film ever made is preaching something and that as filmmakers you need to be clear with what you "preach". This opened Candice's eyes, she realized that she could not impact the world for good while "preaching" a secularist narrative. It became very important to her to align herself with projects that she could be proud of. Gone were the days of working on everything she could just to get her feet in the door and gain experience. She now would only work on projects that "preached" in line with her worldview. This inspired Candice's first crack at writing a Christian film,"The Hustle." Candice found that as her understanding of God grew, her previous screenplays no longer reflected her growing knowledge. She decided to take an indefinite hiatus from the film industry in order to pursue a deeper understanding of God and His relationship to man, so that she could write screenplays that mattered. She wanted to be clear with what she "preached" on screen and proud of it. She earned her baccalaureate in Christian Ministries in 2010 and her Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling in 2015. Candice believes that "Christian" movies have a long way to come and she hopes that her films will help break the stereotypes surrounding Christian entertainment.
