Jaymie John Dornan was born in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada-a suburb of Montreal. He is the son of Joelle Dornan-Desmarais (deceased in 2009), and John (Jack) Dornan, a businessman. His ancestry is French-Canadian, Scottish, English, and Irish. He has two siblings, Junnifer Small (Dornan) and Markin Dornan. He moved from Quebec to Cornwall, Ontario, before the age of two, and again, at 6 years of age, to Suwanee, GA. After a few years, he moved back north to upstate New York, where he began traveling to the city to perform as a child actor. He appeared regularly in various productions, including an Off-Broadway play "The Wooden Breeks" directed by Trip Cullman, and leading roles in many films, including "Turn the River " with Famke Janssen and "House of Satisfaction." Among his TV appearances are "Law and Order" In Vino Veritas" with Chevy Chase, and a recurring role as Kyle Kessler on the Showtime hit series "Ray Donovan." Jaymie took a sabbatical from acting when he moved to Hazel Green, Alabama, to fulfill a promise to his late mother to study and obtain a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He is now once again working at his passion as an actor and living in Los Angeles.
