J. Reuben Appelman is author of the true crime memoir, The Kill Jar, published by Simon & Schuster. He is an on-camera investigator and executive producer for Investigation Discovery's Children of the Snow. His investigation into the Oakland County Child Killings outside of Detroit, Michigan in the 1970s was the springboard for the series. Appelman is also known for his work as writer and co-producer of the Netflix-streamed cage fighter documentary, Jens Pulver Driven.
