After studying engineering and working in aeronautics, Francois chose to leave Bombardier and study film at Concordia University. While working on films as an assistant camera, he directed several short Kino films. In 2008, Francois wins the short-film reality TV show Fais ca court as a participant director (broadcast on Tele-Québec). The same year, he starts Tungsten Studio to produce his own content. As the company grows, he co-produces and directs a 120-minute interactive psychological thriller called Frequences, funded by the CMF and broadcast on ZTele. The series is nominated at the Gemeaux and Numix awards. In 2012, he made his first foray as a documentary producer with the 5x30-minute documentary on the boxer Lucian Bute for TVA Sports. In 2013, he produces and directs Alex Tagliani: The Man, the Athlete (Sportsnet & TVA Sports), a three-episode bilingual series about the Canadian IndyCar driver that gets nominated for Best Documentary Series at the Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018 he produces the web-doc Luminance, a series showcasing inspiring Canadian citizen initiatives that got nominated at the 2020 Gemeaux awards.
