Columbus "Corkey" B. Courson (19th June, 1918 - 16th April, 2008) was a Graduate of the University of California Berkley in 1940 with a degree in English, and later in Fiscal Education as well as obtaining a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling. A decorated WWII Veteran, Mr. Courson served as a Carrier Pilot in the Navy seeing combat in the South Pacific for 26 months. Following the War he spent his life as a Teacher and Administrator in the Orange Unified School District. Columbus is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pearl "Penny" née Schmidt; his daughter Judith Burton, granddaughter Emily Burton and grandson James Burton. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Susan.
