Cristina Nava is a native Los Angeleno. She is not only a writer and producer, but also a modern American-Latina, a wife and mother. Along the many hats she has worn, she has worked as a songwriter, playwright, teacher, actor, and a children's musical theater director as well as conducting workshops for kids and adults in Claymation and Screenwriting. As a member of the Writers Guild of American, Cristina Nava, began writing for film and television in 2008. She was a writer for "East Los High" season one's trans-media featurettes, co-wrote and produced the Hybrid Docu/Narrative Feature titled "Mitos, Ritos, y Tonterias", a film about the negative effects of homophobia in the Latino Community, worked with De Mi Alma Productions to write and produce the pilot for "Two Feet In", and she wrote the romantic Comedy "In Other Words" which begins principal photography in July 2018.. As a published playwright, her solo show, "Rocks in my Salsa", was published in Chicana/Latina Studies: The Journal of Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social. She turned one of her pieces from her solo show into the short film, "Salsa Lessons", which premiered at the Boyle Heights Latina Film Festival. She was also commissioned to write the short film "Syndrome" which screened at the Chicano Film Festival in Mexico City. Nava is a versatile writer crossing from screenwriter to playwright to published Songwriter. She wrote with Martha Gonzalez, of the Grammy Award winning band Quetzal on the album "Sing the Real". Her song "Colores de la Realidad" was published as part of Ray Sandoval Group. She is currently focused on writing for television.
