Born in Guatemala on February 17, 1972. Her mother, a prima ballerina/ballet mistress, was hired to be the director of the Guatemala Ballet Company. During her younger years Vanessa spent the time at her mother's private Art School mastering Ballet, Jazz, Spanish Dance, Music. "Chicos Monitor" was a TV show popular in Guatemala in the 80s. Behind her mother's back she wrote a letter to the show, hoping for an invitation to be the "Kid of the Day". After a couple of weeks, the invitation arrived. Her performance as a guest announcer landed her a steady spot on the show. By the year 1981 Vanessa had signed with Discos de Centroamerica record label. Guatemala was in full Vanessa Fever mode. Her albums quickly moved to the number one spot. Vanessa toured through out Latin America with great success. Her albums were distributed broadly by labels like: Melody, Univision, EMI, Sonotone, Polygram and Sony Records. She hosted her own TV Specials that presented her own original music videos each weekend. Vanessa also VJ'd "Dimension 5" during her teenage years. Vanessa Spatz is considered one of the few child stars in Latin America. She is the first Guatemalan artist to achieve this kind of success internationally. 7 Albums, 5 Platinum awards. Her talents are spread all over: Singer, songwriter, dancer, TV personality and recently: Arranger, producer and artist management.
