Helen Modern was born and raised in North Wales until moving to the North West of England at the age of 11. As well as attending mainstream school, Helen attended The Players Drama School. She performed in various musical theatre productions during her time there, but was specifically remembered for her portrayal of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, for which she was awarded a N.O.D.A award (National Operatic & Dramatic association of great Britain) at the age of 15. It was through The Players Drama School she had her first taste of television work featuring in Hetty Wainthrop Investigates with Patricia Routledge and Dominic Monaghan, plus various other northern based dramas. She studied acting at Queen Margarets University College, Edinburgh graduating in 2004 with a first class honors degree. Helen was snapped up by a London agent the day she graduated and has had regular appearances on British television ever since in both comedy and drama productions. In 2008 Helen will be writing and directing her first feature film 'Sketch City', set for release in 2009.
