Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1972. Studied Scenic Design and graduated at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School in 1993. Began working freelance as Graphic Designer but quickly embraced the Theatre, Opera and Cinema. His first years were of practical learning and worked as scenic painter, carpenter, art assistant, special-effects assistant and standby props. At the same time, he collaborated with amateur theatre companies, signing several set designs for them. In 2001, he was invited to sign his first feature as Production Designer. Since then he has divided his career between Film, Commercials, Theatre and Dance set designs. Collaborating with directors like Carlos Diegues, Marco Martins, Miguel Gomes, João Nicolau, his work has been present in countless festivals, being nominated twice for a Platino Award - with "Arabian Nights" (2016) and "The Great Mystical Circus" (2019) - for example. In 2019 the Brazilian Film Academy awarded his work in the "The Great Mystical Circus", from director Carlos Diegues, with the Otelo Award for Best Art Direction.
