Tarik Polansky was five when he met his first monster. It wasn't in a fairy tale or children's book, but in a theater just blocks from his home. Watching everything from the latest Hollywood offerings to the more obscure, low-budget creepshows, it was in that dream-inducing cineplex that "The Boogeyman" changed his life forever. Many monsters later, Tarik earned his Bachelors in Visual Arts from UCSD. His thesis film - an ambitious historical account of the Hungarian Countess Elizabeth Báthory - opened for David Lynch's Eraserhead at the Museum of Photographic Arts in 2000. Tarik then ventured to Istanbul, Turkey and worked as a Film Distribution Sales Executive, Project Developer and Creative Consultant. He also began writing screenplays and articles for Fangoria magazine - as well as developing projects of his own. Back in San Diego, Tarik grounded himself in the world of post-production and worked steadily as an editor, cameraman and motion graphics artist. After ten years as an established professional, he returned to school to earn his Masters in Film & Television Production from the University of Southern California (USC). Tarik now resides in Burbank, California... and continues to meet new monsters.
