Jason K. Lau

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mr. Lau is a product of Punahou School and the University of California, Los Angeles, and has worked in the financial industry for such companies as Dean Witter Reynolds and Bank of Hawaii. He has served on the board of directors of Hawaii Angels, an angel investment group, Hawaii Venture Capital Association (HVCA), American Heart Association, and the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF). He is also on the advisory board for the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Hawaii, and a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA). In 2004, Mr. Lau founded TalkStory Productions to produce film projects in Hawaii. The company has now produced a variety of television and theatrical projects and continues to be one of the fastest growing production companies in Hawaii. He was a finalist in Sundance Institute's Creative Producing Lab & Fellowship, a participant in HIFF's Creative Lab Writers Accelerator, and invited to the Kyoto Filmmakers Lab-Masters Session. His scripts have reached the finals of the Shore Scripts Feature Film Contest and the ScreenCraft Pilot Launch TV Script Contest. Hawaii Business Magazine selected him as one of twenty people to watch for the next twenty years.
