Steven Wouterlood (Utrecht, 1984) is a Dutch director best known for his children's television film "Alles mag" (Anything Goes). The TV movie won an International Emmy Kids Award, the Kids Award at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and many other prizes. In 2016 Steven's short film "Koningsdag" (King's Day) likewise won the Kids Award at the TIFF and numerous other awards in Qatar, Greece and India. While in the same year Steven worked on his next project together with writer Margien Rogaar. They made the children's TV series "Alleen op de wereld" (Remi, Nobody's Boy), based on the 1878 novel "Sans famille" by Hector Malot. The series tells the story of the orphan Remi and his incredible journey to find his family. For this series, Steven received another Emmy Kids Award nomination, a nomination for the Prix Jeunesse and won the Dutch prize for best scenario, the Zilveren Krulstaart. In 2019 Steven's feature film debut "Mijn bijzonder rare week met Tess" (My Extraordinary Summer with Tess) premiered at the Berlinale and was nominated for a Crystal Bear for Best Film. Variety Magazine named Steven 'one of the European filmmakers to watch' in 2019. After the premiere "Mijn bijzonder rare week met Tess" was released in cinemas throughout Germany and the Netherlands.
