Courtney Baxter is an award winning New York filmmaker with over twelve years experience in the film industry. She began acting professionally at age eleven working in the commercial space, acting in over a dozen national campaigns before entering high school. After realizing her interest in the filmmaking process, Courtney produced and starred in the short film "RECO" at age sixteen while maintaining her recurring role as "Meghan Cleary" on "The Onion News Network". In 2012, Courtney executive produced her first feature, "Hallow's Eve" - starring Courtney and Danielle Harris - which was distributed by E One entertainment. Shortly after, Courtney produced and starred in the feature "Chasing Yesterday"; the film premiered at Newport Beach Film Festival in 2015 and is currently available on iTunes and amazon. Courtney has cultivated her experiences as an actress in films such as "Sharknado 2" and "Night Has Settled" to grow as a filmmaker. In 2017, Courtney directed a short documentary for the United Nations and partnered with UN Women on a short film festival during CSW Week at the UN Headquarters in New York. She will make her directorial debut with co-director Sebastian Rea in 2018 with their Ecuadorian short film, Ruta Viva. The twenty four year old is the in-house director and producer for Brewer Media, directing short films, commercials, music videos, short documentaries, and event production for the company. After winning Best Actress at 30 Under 30 Film Festival in 2015, she went on to become the President of the festival. Courtney graduated early from Pace University in 2015 after earning degrees in Film & Screen Studies, and Economics in three years. As a director and producer, Courtney aims to provide every project with a creatively stimulating, economically sound, and safe environment for filmmakers to collaborate and share their stories.
