Ron Kellum is an award-winning producer, director, artist and choreographer, known for being a Broadway veteran and the first African American artistic director for the award-winning Cirque du Soleil. He was the artistic director for the productions of Koozå from 2015 through 2016 and Volta from 2018 through 2020. As a host of television and live events, Ron has been the co-director for the NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii and Co-Producer for the NFL Pro Bowl United Way Thanksgiving Half-Time Show. As a choreographer for film, Ron is known for his work on Iron Man 2, directed by Jon Favreau, and starring Robert Downey Jr. Ron is the Artistic Director of Postmodern Jukebox. A Broadway veteran, Ron has directed, choreographed and performed in numerous productions. In 2017, Ron received critical acclaim for directing the first production of Jesus Christ Superstar to feature an all-Black cast. The production ran at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, IL. He has directed many musical theater productions, including Dreamgirls, Once on This Island, Chicago, and The Wedding Singer. As a choreographer, Ron is known for his theatrical productions of Ain't Misbehavin', Chicago, A Chorus Line, The Color Purple, Dreamgirls, Jesus Christ Superstar, Once on This Island, Rent, Smokey Joe's Cafe, and 5 Guys Named Moe. As a performer, Ron appeared on Broadway in the original revival cast of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Chicago. He has toured nationally in Aida, Dreamgirls, Fosse, Fame, Chicago and The Wiz, and appeared in original productions, including Sisterella and Fame. As a vocalist, Ron has been featured in Las Vegas in such shows as "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," based on the music of Stevie Wonder, directed by Billy Porter, and as a backup vocalist for Ann-Margret Live. Born in Amarillo, TX, Ron grew up in Denver, CO, where he started his career in theater at the age of 12. Ron is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Broadcast Journalism from Arizona State University. Directly out of college, he landed a position at the anchor desk for an NBC affiliate in Northern Arizona. Ron, along with his friend Tony Stoval, were contestants on season 17 of the adventure reality game show television series, The Amazing Race. Kellum and Stoval, who were cast as "best friends," went from first place to being the first team eliminated from the race, when they got lost after making a wrong turn in the English countryside. Ron has just completed a new documentary for the Mayo Clinic. He is in production on several reality television series which he is slated to executive produce and host. Ron resides in Los Angeles.
