Before becoming a director, Dale Peterson worked in many other aspects of filmmaking. Twenty years ago, he produced his first documentary film, Bring your Best, about homelessness in Los Angeles's Skid Row. The documentary received national acclaim. Since then he has worked as director of photography, editor, producer, writer and director. Dale's love of music led him to produce and direct over 100 music videos for bands ranging from The Melvins to Alice in Chains. Over the past six years, Peterson has dedicated himself to writing and directing his own films. In 2009, his documentary I'm Gonna Do It Until The Day I Die won Best of Fest at the Arizona Underground Film Festival and Best Short at the Charlotte and Detroit Film Festivals. In 2011, Peterson's film Hard to Come By won seven awards at nine festivals, including Best Short at Manhattan and Palm Beach International Film Festivals, and garnered him Best Director honors at the Los Angeles ITN Film and New Media Festival. In 2015, Peterson completed his feature, Hello, My Name is Frank..., which has won seven awards including Best Dramatic Feature and Best Actor at the 2015 Manhattan Film Festival. In May 2016, Hello, My Name is Frank..., was released by Vision Films and Cardinal XD and received critical acclaim across the US, including two awards from Amazon for being one of the top most downloaded indie films. He is now in development with his next feature, Christmas Town.
