Shannon L. Novak

About: Shannon L. Novak is a Chicago native that lived in Los Angeles for almost 6 years. Shannon loved the industry in Los Angeles but moved back to Chicago in 2010 to be closer to her family & roots with the passion & belief that Chicago would still provide her the opportunity to follow her dreams. She lives in the Chicagoland area and is the Networking Chair on the board of Women In Film Chicago, a SAG-AFTRA Actor, as well as a trained Professional Make-Up Artist. In between acting & make-up, she works many promotional, spokesmodeling & narrating jobs. She is very excited to be back to the industry 100%, after leaving her full-time job to pursue her passions. Acting Career: Shannon moved out to Los Angeles to attend make-up school, but quickly realized after graduating that she still had a passion for acting also. She used to be super shy, but had since broke out of her shell & wanted to give it a go. She started taking acting classes & building her resume. She worked on many projects including films, hosting an extreme hobbies show, modeling for the 'Tyra Banks' show & was also involved in many entertainment industry related events. In 2007, Shannon became a SAG member, while volunteering quite often with the SAG Foundation in Los Angeles. Shannon also spent her time being a part of the Young Storytellers group & hosting karaoke as one of her many side gigs. Since moving back to Chicago, Shannon has been involved in a variety of projects. Make-Up Career: In 2002 Shannon earned her Cosmetology License & was working in a salon, however wanted to be more involved in the movie industry. After researching many different schools & visiting a few of them, she made her decision to move to LA in 2004. After graduating from the Master Make-Up Artistry Program at Make-Up Designory, she decided that she wanted to stay out in Los Angeles & see where life would take her. Shannon had the opportunity to work on projects with talent such as Lance Henrickson, Beth Grant, Brian McNamara, Jack McGee, Donal Logue, Janice Dickinson & many more. She also followed a career in acting & feels that having the experience in both of these areas has strengthened her skills overall. After returning to Chicago, she also acquired her Esthetician License. Her expertise includes commercials, film, print, weddings, fashion shows & much more.
