Conceived in Las Vegas and coming from a family of creative artists and entrepreneurs, Camillia has always had a strong penchant and deep fascination for lights , camera, action, and storytelling. She also played competitive tennis and furthered her love of equestrian riding from Western to English, and continues with numerous forms of dance . Her two biggest influences for choosing acting as a career path have been her grandmother and uncle. Her grandmother,Janki Shori, who in addition to being the first woman in Canada to import and distribute Bollywood films was also very active in the Indian film industry in the 1940's.Her uncle, Tab Shori, was an accomplished musician in his own right who at the height of his career opened for Ike and Tina Turner, worked with the Beatles, and was invited to tour with Chubby Checkers. Since her first casting in elementary school as a male Australian shepherd, her dedication and desire to learn her craft and hone her skills has led her across the continents to study theatre, film and television based acting (including clowning and method based acting) in distinguished schools like the Studio 58 and the Central School of Speech and Drama. Hence, her desire and ability to constantly challenge herself and explore a wide range of emotions in the characters that she takes on. All these can be evidenced by her repertoire of roles, examples of which include that of a child actor, cannibal, firearms dealer and that of a humorous nerdy cyber chat girl. Her two most recent projects are her role as Jina (a struggling heroin addict) in the nominated movie "Turbulence" and that as Nathifia (a devoted wife) in Steven Spielberg's "The Whispers". Her love for languages and culture has led her to remote locales in far-flung places of the earth so as to lend her voice, name and time to animal activism and human rights.
