Summer Raine was born on August 16th 1971 in Michigan where she grew up. She later moved to Florida...something she always wanted to do despite having never been there...and now calls The Sunshine State her home. Summer Raine first became interested in Acting when she attended a school production of Fiddler On The Roof in which her friend had a role. She immediately felt that spark that ignites the passion for Acting and said, "I would LOVE to do that!" Shortly thereafter, when she began high school, she was required to take either Drama or Speech. The choice was clear, and she took Drama for all four years of high school. During that time, she learned a lot about Acting from her wonderful Drama Teacher Mr Ron Mindykowski, endearingly known to all as Mr Mindy. One of her favorite things she learned from Mr Mindy is that "There is no such thing as small parts, only small actors." (Originally said by Konstantin Stanislavski) This concept helped Summer Raine to realize how important each and every role is, no matter how big or small. Summer Raine has learned through experience that given the time and money required to produce any theatrical or cinematic production, if it is not important for you to be there, you would not be! This realization helps Summer Raine to feel she is extremely lucky to be a part, any part, of a production...especially during those times when speaking roles are not acquired. Summer Raine is forever grateful to Mr Mindy for all that he taught her about Acting and for all of the amazing opportunities he gave her, both on the stage and behind the scenes! In his classes, she also gained experience in writing skits. Summer Raine loves creative writing and was always recognized for her excellent writing skills in any writing class she took. Many times her works were used as outstanding examples for the class. While in high school, she played the following roles in school productions: Miss Loula Jordan in Death Of An Old Man, Villager in The Lottery, Jean & Freshman & Group Member & Catherine in Voices From The High School, Citizen in Sweeney Todd. She also served as Assistant Director for You Can't Take It With You. During that time, she was excited for the opportunity to run some rehearsals herself. She was happy to help out with makeup, costumes, props, painting scenery and any other aspect where her assistance was needed. While attending Delta College in Michigan, Summer Raine took a Modern Dance Class. She loves dancing and had always wanted to take dance lessons so she really enjoyed the class. She was very excited when she and the rest of her class went to see a beautiful and moving performance by Alvin Ailey Dance Company. Summer Raine still enjoys dancing, especially freestyle and belly dancing. At Delta College she took Business and Art Classes. Summer Raine loves drawing, painting, graphic arts, crafting, decorating, writing, skit writing and poetry/lyric writing...anything creative! She has always been and still is very interested in business. Summer Raine continued her love for theater and live performances by participating in Community Theater. She played the role of Nurse in Bay City Players production of Shadowlands. She debuted her English Accent for the role. She went on to play the role of Miss Brown in Look Homeward Angel at Theatre Winter Haven. There, she also assisted the production of Breaking Legs with Light and Sound and Rain Effects. Unsure of what she wanted to do with her life, she had many "regular jobs"; but her love and passion for Acting was and is always alive in her! Summer Raine thanks Oprah Winfrey for helping her to realize that Acting is what she wants to do with her life! One day, it must have been while rewinding an exercise videotape because she never watched TV during the day, Fate made sure she saw it! An episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show was playing. The episode was about figuring out what your dream is. Oprah suggested asking yourself 5 questions to help you realize what your dream is. After contemplating those 5 questions, the answer became obvious. Summer Raine wondered how she could not have known sooner that Acting is her Dream! The one question that stood out most is What did you love to do as a child? She remembered that she had been pretending to do commercials since she was a young child, and that she had loved playing Barbies and making up scenes for her dolls! With her newfound realization thanks to Oprah, she then decided that she would love to be in Movies and began to actively pursue a way to make it happen. However, she felt lost and unsure of how to go about it and who to trust as legitimate agents. She then found an advertisement for an agent and began taking Acting Classes for the next 3 years. During that time, she also took two 8 Hour Camera Technique Classes and watched a Bruce Glover Video Seminar and a Kip King Video Seminar. For that agent, she did A LOT of Promotional Modeling jobs. Even though she was given many compliments for her performances during classes, she was unsatisfied with the lack of movie and/or television offers from her then current agent and began seeking other agents who would help to get her where she dreamed to be. Summer Raine was very excited to be Background Talent and play a Businesswoman in her first film production: HBO TV Mini Series - From The Earth To The Moon (Part 1) directed by Tom Hanks! She ABSOLUTELY LOVED every second of the experience and knew she was hooked on Acting and Films! After working through the night, around 3 o'clock in the morning, one of the actors on set said that his wife will never believe that he is still on the movie set. Tom Hanks told him to call his wife and when the answering machine picked up, Tom Hanks left her a message to assure her that her husband was still working on the set! Summer Raine thought that was so nice and cool of Tom Hanks to do that! Summer Raine then went on to appear in From The Earth To The Moon (Part 9) in which she played a NASA Employee as Background Talent. In this part, she has her longest moment on film to date. She always jokes, "Don't blink...you might miss me!" An Actor friend, Peter D'Alessio, asked her to help out on a short film called The Horizon Bleeds and Sucks His Thumb. She happily accepted and was given the title and credit of Production Assistant (as Summer Raine Michaels). MORE TO COME...STAY TUNED!
