Aleix Torrecillas

Aleix was born in Barcelona in the early 80's, glorious era of film fantasy, monsters and creatures. He grew up hooked to the TV watching fantasy movies like Labyrinth, Dark Crystal or the Goonies. From an early age works inside audiovisual industry by making TV commercials as an actor for advertising. But his real obsession since childhood was the special makeup. At the age of 15 works for the first time behind the camera as set decorator assistant for a shortfilm and a year later began studying makeup. Years later in 2004 finally gets to work for the first time for DDT SFX team, led by David Marti and Montse Ribe. There he learns over the years the craft and business collaborating on films like Pan's labyrinth, The impossible or The skin I live in. Otherwise to fill downtime jobless, Aleix opens his own shop called Zero SFX special effects where he combines low-budget productions with classes to train future prosthetic makeup artists. Today the country in which he lives and works does not guarantee a minimum of stability. So he is forced to seek productions outside his country.
