Born Akil K Anderson in Detroit MI, he attended Cooley High School before going on to film school and working as a recording engineer and record producer in Detroit's legendary Nation Studios. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles Akil worked his way up the ranks of Hollywood from Guitar Center to Film LA before studying acting with Chip Fields (Hurd). Remembering his earlier talents behind the camera Akil picked up the directing genius of Chip and stared a full pursuit to his goal of directing film and television. The next several years would be an onslaught of production assistant work that would give Akil the knowledge and skill to make his dream a reality. After several years Akil landed a gig as AP of Crank Yankers (JackHole) which led to several producer gigs on pilots and TV shows produced by Jack hole. Akil simultaneously paid dues at MTV starting on MTV's "Score", and to eventually becomes one of the show producers of Parental Control in 2009. Akil's field directing caught wind having already field produced Snoop Dogg's father hood when he became a part of Life in the fab lane with Kimora Lee Simmons. Akil went on to produce Ghost Hunters, Welcome to Sweetie Pies and Segment Directed the Dr. Phil Show. Akil has produced and directed his debut film "Package 13" and is working on his first theatrical release "Cooley Boyz" stay tuned as this Bio develops.
