From the age of 7, Kya enjoyed classes in ballet and tap, where her teacher said one day her name would be up in lights! Dancing and Musical Theatre was always Kya's passion. In 1993 she moved to London and attended the Anna Scher Theatre School and the Kensington & Chelsea College, where she gained a Distinction in Performing Arts. In 2015 Kya decided to make the move over to the USA for further training to study with Margie Haber in LA, as well as short courses at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art [RADA]. Always having a fear of Shakespeare, Kya decided in 2021 to overcome her fears by taking further classes and workshops, and has now formed a great passion for his work. Her first TV appearance as a featured performer was in Channel 4's Comedy Lab "Best of British" and then BBC's Dead Ringers with Jon Culshaw. In 2009 Kya saw an opening for the West End to play a "Townsfolk" in the production of JW Priestley's An Inspector Calls directed by Stephen Daldry at the Novello and Wyndhams Theatre. Other credits include Paddington 2, 24: LAD
