Yuri Zhirov was best known for his film Breathe, becoming the manifesto of a first Bulgarian unofficial, opposition committee and a metaphor for resistance to the totalitarian regime. The Committee was established on March 8, 1988 in the House of Cinema after the premiere of the film. Among the films directed by him, there are also "The Wall", "Every day of life", "Difficult children".
