Laurent Papot is a French actor born in 1978. He trained between 1996 and 1998 at Cours Florent. He began to work very early in the theater, notably by interpreting the role of Nero in the tragedy by Jean Racine Britannicus at the Bastia National Theater. He then created his own company with the director Séverine Chavrier. From this collaboration will be born a dozen shows (repertoire or creation) including "Les Palmiers Sauvages" adapted from the novel by W.Faulkner and "We are sated but not repented" creation freely inspired by lunch at Wittgenstein by T.Bernhard. These shows created in Switzerland at Vidy Lausanne are then performed in Paris at the famous Odeon theater and then on tour in France and abroad. This collaboration continues at the national drama center of Orleans, which Séverine Chavrier took over in 2017. An adaptation of W.Faulkner's novel "Absalon, Absalon!" will soon be created. Spotted in "Wild Palms" and "We are sated ..." (which earned him the title of best actor of the 2016/2017 season by a specialized theater magazine) he crosses paths and works with Ivo Van Hove in "A view from the bridge", then with Nicolas Stemann (director of the Zurich theater) in an adaptation of the monument of Germanic literature "Nathan the wise". Then it was the famous Australian director Simon Stone who gave him the role of Nicolas (Touzenbach) in his rewrite of Anton Tchekhov's "Three Sisters". This year he will play the character of Edmond in "King Lear" by W. Shakespeare directed by G. Lavaudant. Along with his work in the theater, Laurent Papot leads a career in cinema. he tours with Guillaume Brac (Un monde sans femme) Philippe Ulysse (I was your river) Jules Zingg (The neighbors, Kudoh, The rests) Hugo Dillon (Fraigers), the young and promising Carlos Abascal Peiro (Fair Play, Operation Finot ), Marc Colin (The shock of the future) Pierre Schoeller (A people and its king). He forges a working relationship with Vincent Macaigne who engages him in theater and cinema for his first feature film "Pour le Réconfort". This year will be released "Municipal" a docu-fiction by Thomas Paulot where he plays the main role and the highly anticipated "Harry Haft" by Barry Levinson in which he shoots with Ben Foster.
