Los Angeles native Kico Velarde began his filmmaking career by diving straight into the world of post-production as soon as he graduated from college. He began sharpening his editorial craft as an Assistant Editor, eventually becoming an Editor on projects for companies like NBCUniversal, Deluxe Digital Studios, Technicolor, HGTV, Olmos Productions, and IFC. Five years later he switched hats and went on to produce two Internationally Acclaimed and Award Winning feature films PVC-1 (2007) and Meteora (2012). In 2011, Kico was tapped by NBCUniversal to join the producing team as a Producer/Editor for Jay Leno's web-series "Jay Leno's Garage". That same year, Kico took home his very first Emmy win for "Jay Leno's Garage" and followed that up with a second Emmy Nomination in 2012. In 2012, Kico directed the short film The Shooting Star Salesman which marks his directorial debut and the first film out of The Film Imaginarium, a Film and Television Production Company Kico co-found alongside his creative business partners. When not filming or editing, Kico takes advantage of every minute he can to enjoy life with his wife and Producer Joanna Velarde and their two inspirations, Elijah and Sophia Velarde.
