Mark has worked in Southeast Asia since 1988, and since 1995 permanently. He has extensive experience in Southeast Asia, gained during his service in the Australian military in Malaysia and Cambodia and as civilian afterwards. He established and managed the first security and explosive ordnance disposal firm, employing more than 300 personnel, in Cambodia during a time of civil war. He was entrusted to provide the security for the United Nations, foreign embassies and large multi-national companies. Since 2001 Mark has been at the leading edge in the establishment of new law enforcement procedures, training and manuals and has overseen the implementation of enforcement projects integrated with community assistance programs. Mark has been responsible for training over 2,500 law enforcement and military officials responsible for the protection of natural resources and national security throughout Southeast Asia. He is a highly skilled and experienced in command, leadership and management as well as teaching and curriculum development. Mark is a published author of the Protect Managers Manual for Protected Area Protection and Enforcement (ISBN 978-616-91928-1-7) and the Protect Enforcement Manual for Counter-poaching Operations (ISBN 978-616-91928-2-4). These manuals have been translated from English into Bahasa Indonesian, Thai, Khmer, Lao, Vietnamese, Chinese, Nepali, Hindi, Swahili, Arabic, and French. The manuals have become doctrine for many of these countries agencies.
